Andy cuts it at Driffield Golf Club!
Andy Anderson, who took over as Head Greenkeeper at Driffield Golf Club in December 2009, has been receiving plaudits for his work at the club from far and wide. Club Chairman, Paul Fryer said, "Andy has made a great impression in his first season in charge and we have had a great deal of favourable comment from both members and visitors about the state of the course in general and about the greens in particular which have been superb".
The chairman of a Cumbrian golf club who played in the golf day held by the RABI, farming's national charity, wrote to the club secretary, "I must say that I was most impressed with Driffield Golf Club. The reception and clubhouse facilities were first class. Of course, the highlight on a very enjoyable day was the excellent condition of the course. The greens were very good, true and consistent and the layout of the course was immaculate. Overall it was a very impressive day and can I extend my thanks to you and your green-keeping staff for the excellent team effort they have made."

Andy is not a regular golfer himself but he has been a member of the greens staff since 1987. Whilst delighted with the favourable comments, Andy is quick to pay tribute to his predecessor, Keith Gray, who retired at the end of last year after 44 years with the club. Andy said, "I learnt a huge amount from Keith. The knowledge and experience I gained from working with him have enabled me to take on this job but it's not just down to me; greenkeeping is a team effort. Andrew Horner has been with us since 1987 and Jamie Nesfield and Adam Scott who both joined us as apprentices are now an important part of a really good team."
